There is little doubt that pre-teens are in an often perplexing period of quest and discovery, particularly with regard to their bodies, sexuality, and future. There are numerous sources ready to supply answers, ranging from the airwaves to peers to the internet.

If you've read YOU: Life, Love, and the Theology of the Body, you'll know and appreciate the format of Theology of the Body for Teens: Middle School Edition. It, too, combines a terrific blend of stories, real-life experiences, exercises, prayers, and cultural references that are relevant to the lives of the kids. It is specifically developed for 6th through 8th grades.

This can be utilized as a stand-alone curriculum, but it also works well as a prerequisite for the High School Edition. A Leader's Guide, a Student Workbook, a Parent's Guide, and an exciting and dynamic DVD component are included in the 8-session middle school curriculum.

Theology of the Body for Teens: Middle School Edition answers questions such as:
  • Who am I?
  • Are there consequences to my actions?
  • What is the difference between love and lust?
  • How do I balance family, friends, school, God, music, TV, internet, texting, etc., in my daily life?
  • How can I discern my vocation to marriage, priesthood, or religious life?
  • How do I deal with bullying, gossip, peer pressure, pornography, divorce, etc?
  • Can I live my Catholic Faith no matter how I messed up in the past?

The Student Pack includes:
  • Student Workbook
  • Parent’s Guide

Great introduction for teens!
(Ottawa, Ontario, Canada) | September 3rd, 2021
I wanted to introduce my children to the Theology of the Body. I bought 2 of these student packs (which include a physical workbook) and I also bought the leader's guide and parent's guide. Since I live in Canada, I could not order these from Ascension Press. The people at Sunrise Marian were very kind and helpful in explaining to me over the phone (Yes, you can actually speak to someone!) that I would need the leader's guide in addition to the parent's guide if I was leading my children through this. We did a self-lead retreat over about 8 days, one day per chapter, just to watch the video and do some of the exercises. For us, this was a quick introduction, and we definitely are planning to do this program again over the recommended 8 weeks (1 week per chapter). The quality of the online videos as well as the quality of the printed materials is excellent. I highly recommend this program. God bless!
