This book was created to bring Advent themes to our minds so that we might ponder and pray with Mary, who brought Christ to us. Advent, like Lent, is a season of mental and physical preparation for a major event. Certainly, if a king or a cardinal were to visit us, we would prepare for his arrival. Shouldn't we also be preparing for the great King of the world? Instead of coming to our houses, His Advent, or "arrival," is one into our hearts, and it is determined by how we pray and reflect in the days preceding up to Christmas.
Advent should not be a sad or stressful time, for penance is a gift for God. If these Advent days are committed to God, they will be the most joyous. As human people, we are happy when everything is in order and in its correct place. This is how health is defined. This is the concept of peace. This is what it means to be a Christian. Our goal here is to bring Christ back into Christmas, to welcome the Christ Child into our hearts, and to enjoy the holiness of having Christ's Mass at Christmas.
