English Grammar Recitation II is specifically linked to the grammar taught in First Form Latin and contains 36 extra grammatical rules in addition to building on capitalization and punctuation rules taught in English grammatical Recitation I.
Brief exercises, including some diagramming, follow each grammatical questions; however, knowledge of the English grammar catechism, not its application, is the major purpose of this course. Through recitation, English Grammar Recitation also includes capitalization and punctuation. Students repeat the principles and show accurate application by dictating exemplar phrases. It is intended that this course would take significantly less time than a conventional English grammar course, allowing students more time for writing and Latin.
