Invite students into a deeper exploration of the foundational truths of our faith and their rootedness in the stories of the Old Testament. In this course, students will be introduced to the nature of God, his love as expressed in Creation, and his saving plan. Students will come to know our great ancestors in faith and the amazing relationship established between God and God’s people. With additional chapters on the Patriarchs, the Exodus, the Kings of Israel and Women of the Old Testament, your students are certain to find inspiration and relevancy for their lives in this ancient text.
This new Teacher Guide that accompanies The Catholic Connections Handbook for Middle Schoolers, Second Edition includes a number of ways to assess students. Each chapter includes a quiz while a cumulative test follows the end of every four chapters. There are also suggestions in the Teacher Guides for a week-long project that can be used to enhance learning, or as a summative assessment. Many review activities can also be graded, used as assessments, or be turned in for credit.
The Catholic Connections curriculum is unique in that the Teacher Guide contains chapters that use the Bible as the primary text. This feature assists in developing students’ biblical literacy and knowledge, and demonstrates the close connection between Scripture and Tradition. Additionally, for students who use Breakthrough! The Bible for Young Catholics, there are several suggestions for using its supplemental articles for further learning.
