Our founder, Saint John Baptist de La Salle, believed that prayer should be the foundation of all we do. We continue to believe that, because it empowers us as teachers of the young, to model and develop the practice of prayer in their lives, keeping Christ at the center of who we are and all we do.
We Pray As One provides daily liturgical prayer for the schools and parishes. These simple liturgical prayers reflect the liturgical seasons and the lives of the saints, as these are included in the liturgical calendar. Introductory material will help teachers understand liturgical prayer and introduce it to young people.
Daily prayer includes:
Invitation to prayer
Collect centered around the theme of the week or the days’ saint or feast
Psalm prayed in dialogue by all participants
Scripture reading taken from the Lectionary for Children
Intercessions
The Lord’s Prayer
Blessing
We Pray as One is suitable for all ages.
(We Pray as One 2019 provides prayers for each day from January 29, 2019 - December 20, 2019)
