From Inspiration to Invention offers a new look at the Constitutions of the Society of Jesus for those interested in contemporary Ignatian studies. It draws from major traditional approaches to the text (including the French, Italian, and Spanish), revisits the question of the authorship of the Constitutions, and “opens” the text for present–day readers. “This book’s principal desire is to deepen the insights that enriched Ignatian spirituality during the 1970s,” writes Fr. J. Carlos Coupeau in the introduction.
