Product Description

•••••
Finding Christ in the World invites the reader to “let God show you where and how He concretely breaks into your life.” A 12–week prayer experience framed by the Spiritual Exercises, the book is of particular help to faith communities such as Bible study and prayer groups. But individuals can also use it as a means of prayer. The instructions for retreat invite a “conversion of heart from a tight focus on one’s self to a graced focus on God–with–us.”

The book includes questions and prompts for reflection (for example, “When I think about God listening to me, I want to tell him…”), and guidelines for reviewing each week of prayer.

We have improved the 2017 edition with curl-resistant front and back covers.

Authors: Joseph A. Tetlow, S.J., and Carol Atwell Ackels

Transformation
| January 29th, 2024
This workbook asserts Christ is with us and goes ahead of us to transform us to be the very best we can be-the men and women God destined us to be.
Finding Christ In the World: A Twelve Week Ignatian Retreat in Everyday Life
(Calgary) | November 10th, 2020
This workbook opens us to God in the "ordinary." Each day for twelve weeks, we are offered exercises that lead us through scripture, commentary, quotes and questions. If we open to them, we are led to God and Jesus through our hearts rather than our intellect and discover that we, too, can be expressions of agape love as we live our everyday lives. -- even as we recognize our sin and accept our divine gifts. The questions were provocative and centering; the quotes confirming. Being encouraged to consider scripture through lectio divina and prayer of the imagination inspired my spiritual awareness, shifts and undertakings. My everyday world has become a more spiritual world. Study and pray through the workbook on your own, but even better explore your frequent insights, doubts and questions with a spiritual director.
