What is the threshold of secrecy?
How much facts can be publicly disclosed?
One of the Church's concerns is to preserve transparency while still maintaining secrecy; to oppose cover-ups while also protecting the assumption of innocent. This book investigates how to make this challenge a reality. The research does not concentrate on sexual abuse in the Church as its major topic, but rather on Pope Francis' revisions to Canon criminal law. Ultimately, instead of "perfect transparency," it recommends accountability and the metaphor of translucency as an organic model better relevant to the Church's character, goals, and mission.
