The Exploring Creation with Advanced Biology: The Human Body Advantage Set includes the textbook, test and solutions manual, and student notebook. This is a college-prep course that provides an advanced study of the human body’s 11 organ systems. This 2nd edition has updated discussions and photographs, as well as new content
This advanced high school science course, covering the human body, has updated text and beautiful new illustrations. This advanced biology course covers both the anatomy and physiology of each of the human body’s organ systems for those students who have successfully completed high school biology and chemistry. Please note that the reproductive system is covered in detail, including accurate yet respectful illustrations and descriptions.
The high-quality hardcover student text contains all student material, study questions, laboratory exercises, and module study guides with color photos and illustrations. The softcover solutions-and-tests manual contains tests, test solutions, and answers to the module study guides. Because of the differences between first and second editions, students in a group setting cannot use both. The second edition of our Human Body course includes the following enhanced features:
High-quality color illustrations
More in-depth discussions and explanations of concepts
Online resources that explore concepts in more detail
Greater emphasis on connecting creation to the Creator
If a student completes the entire course, including documenting in a lab notebook all of the labs, experiments, and dissections, it could be counted as an honors course. The course provides the student with a solid background in advanced biology and is presented in a readable, conversational tone.
NOTE: Although the Anatomy Coloring Book is optional, the textbook does assign activities from the coloring book.
Solutions and test manual for Apologia's high school advanced biology - Exploring Creation with Advanced Biology: The Human Body. The manual contains answers to module review questions, practice problems, and extra practice problems, as well as the tests and test solutions. A booklet containing an extra set of tests is shrink-wrapped with the manual.
A flexible daily schedule is provided in the student notebook so that your student can independently work on their science assignments.
A typical week requires studying science about 1 hour a day for 5 days. During this time, students read an assigned portion of their textbook, stopping throughout each section to answer “On Your Own” questions to test their comprehension before moving forward. Students self-check their answers against the detailed answers provided at the end of each module.
Laboratory exercises are conducted throughout each module so that students have a hands-on lab component in their scientific study. These have been designed to easily work in the homeschool environment.
At the end of each of the modules which take about 2 weeks each to complete, there are Study Guides to help students review their materials before taking their exams. Detailed answers to these questions are provided in the Solutions Manual.
If a student is having difficulty with a module, optional module summaries are available to provide additional support towards a student’s retention and success.
Module exams and quarterly exams, as well as detailed answers, are provided in the Solutions Manual.
