Brendan & Erc in Exile is an exciting series of Christian graphic novels that combines sci-fi stories and quirky comedy with solid Catholic catechesis and apologetics. Ideal for thoughtful adolescents and young adults, and anyone looking for a fun and unique approach to learn about the Faith. Perfect gift for science-fiction fans!

In volume one, The Truth Is Out There, interplanetary mailmen Brendan and Erc battle space pirates while debating topics such as God, Jesus, and the Church.

In The Big Picture, our heroes delve deeper into the Faith and learn about the history of salvation, as they face off against a lunar megalomaniac with a messianic complex.

Brendan and Erc are now fully initiated Catholics in third volume The Weapons of War, and they are called upon to aid Christians on Mars as they fight the despotic designs of their secularist rulers—with the help of the seven sacraments!

AUTHOR & ILLUSTRATOR:

Brother Amadeus left a successful career as an engineer to join the contemplative order of the Maronite Monks of Adoration, located in Massachusetts. He was partly motivated into drawing the graphic novels as a method of conveying the riches of the Church's faith in a way that young people could understand. He says that beauty – whether manmade or from God – is meant to draw us to the Creator.

“The beauty that we create is obviously taken from the beauty of nature. And the beauty of nature is a reflection of God; that’s his work,” he said.

“I don’t think there is a better way to draw hearts to God, to Christ. That’s where all the beautiful churches and artwork, all those things we hold in such high regard…that was inspired by the beauty of nature to return to the beauty of God.”
