A Personal Matter
The modern secular state attacks the dignity of the human person by denying its source. Human rights detached from their origin in God are a matter of social consensus and the relative strength of interest groups. Many of the resulting abuses have medical implications as well as a general and universal significance. This volume addresses the foundation and defense of human dignity in medicine and society. The essays included here originated in the Second Annual Meeting of the Canadian Federation of Catholic Physicians’ Societies held in Montreal in May 2010.
