“Mercy–as Christ presented it in the parable of the prodigal son–has the interior form of the love that in the New Testament is called agape. This love is able to reach down to every prodigal son, to every human misery, and above all to every form of moral misery, to sin.” – John Paul II in Dives in Misericordia
Going Home is a reflection on the parable of the prodigal son in the light of the teaching of Catherine de Hueck Doherty. Fr. Denis Lemieux shows us the astonishing power of the parable to heal the wounds of sin and division in our lives and set us anew on the journey to the Father.
Fr Denis Lemieux has been a member of Madonna House since 1991, and was ordained in 2004. He holds a licentiate in Sacred Theology and is the author of The Air We Breathe: The Mariology of Catherine de Hueck Doherty and of She is our Response: The Virgin Mary and the Church’s Encounter with Modernity in the Writings of Joseph Ratzinger. He currently resides in Ontario, Canada, where he divides his time between teaching, writing, parish mission and retreat work and spiritual direction.
