Since Holy Mass is a renewal of the sacrifice of the cross, it follows that Holy Mass is the most sublime means of honoring God and the richest fountain of grace and blessings for the Church and for the faithful.
Ah, how shall we excuse ourselves before God on the day of judgment for having neglected to assist at Holy Mass on account of our often trivial occupations, or our love of ease? It is true, we are not commanded to hear Mass on weekdays and God will not condemn us for not doing so. But may He not accuse us of being slothful in His service, and of wasting the talent of grace which was confided to our keeping–that is, the graces which would have been communicated to us through daily Holy Mass? May these humble pages inspire many souls with a deeper understanding and a more ardent love of the Holy Sacrifice, and urge them to assist more frequently, more fervently, and more fruitfully at its celebration!
An excellent resource for all who seek better understanding of and devotion to Holy Mass.
